Florida insurance policy holders can now download the Horace Mann mobile app, establish a login and password for their account and have access to their electronic insurance ID card 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

With this mobile access, should a driver get pulled over, all they need to do is log into their insurance account on their mobile device and show the officer their insurance card electronically. According to the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America on August 23, 2013, Florida is one of 28 states to have adopted the e-card laws and/or regulations allowing drivers to show proof of insurance with their smart phone during traffic stops. The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America reports that three more states including Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania are still in legislation on electronic insurance cards.

Many drivers forget to replace the insurance card in their wallet from year to year, which can be compromising at a traffic stop.
